Diamond Star Maricel Soriano is back in harness.
After facing charges for allegedly maltreating her housemaids, and the untimely death of her mother, she is now filming the movie “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”
Maricel stars with former matinee idol Gabby Concepcion, Anne Curtis and Lovi Poe in the movie.
The locquiacious actress has denied allegations that she maltreated her former housemaids who filed charges against her in Makati City.
At the pictorial last week, Maricel refused to talk about the issue involving her housemaids.
The top network ABS-CBN reported that the Diamond Star is now facing one of the greatest challenges in her life as her mother passed away.
“Bawat unos daw na dadaanan natin, pagsubok sa buhay ay mayroon ding kapalit. Yesterday na today na tayo ngayon,” she said.
Maricel earlier denied maltreating her former maids. She said that her former housemaids May Cachuela and Camille Acojeda were not telling the truth.
Cachuela and Acojeda have accused Soriano of physically and verbally abusing them.
They have filed charges of physical injuries and grave threats against the veteran actress.
In her counter-affidavit, Maricel denied all the accusations made by her former housemaids.
“I did not commit any act that would constitute the crimes of grave threats, unjust vexation, slander, oral defamation and physical injuries.”
Maricel denied that she threatened her maids with a gun.
She said, “Allegation that I attempted to reach my gun is utterly false considering that I did not keep any gun in my house.”
According to an ABS-CBN report, Maricel refuted a report that she locked her former employees in their room pointing out that their door doesn’t even have a lock.
According to Maricel, the allegation is a form of extortion. “This complaint is clearly a form of harassment and an attempt to extort money from me,” she said.
She also claimed in her written statement that she once caught Cachuela rummaging through the contents of her wallet.
