AWARD-WINNING singer Lea Salonga may have another baby next year.
This as her husband, Robert Chien, reportedly wants her to get pregnant again, now that their eldest, Nicole, is three years old.
and the deadline the couple is giving each other for their next baby is next year, said a top columnist.
This means that Lea’s supposed reunion movie with actor Aga Muhlach may be realized only in 2013.
Lea is revisiting the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand for a special Valentine concert dubbed “Lea Salonga Sings Great Love Songs for Valentine’s Day” on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 8 p.m.
Conductor Gerard Salonga and the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will accompany the Tony award-winning actress.
Salonga’s first concert in Bangkok two years ago was a sellout. And she’s now set to return to the “land of smiles” for an evening of romantic repertoire, which consists of love ballads from musicals “West Side Story”, “Cinderella”, “Les Miserables” and more.
The singer’s website said that Lea will also render songs originally popularized by The Carpenters and Barbra Streisand and contemporary tunes “Love Moves in Mysterious Ways” and “I Honestly Love You.”
The Filipino singer and actress first gained international stardom for her award-winning portrayal of young Vietnamese bargirl Kim in Alain Boubliland Claude-Michel Schönberg’s epic musical “Miss Saigon” in London and New York.
For her excellent performance in the musical, she won the prestigious 1991 Tony Award for “Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical” as well as the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Awards. Broadway credits include the revival of “Les Miserables” and the contemporarized “Flower Drum Song”. Salonga also recorded the singing voices behind Disney princesses Jasmine (“Alladin”) and Fa Mulan (“Mulan”).
Lea was last seen portraying the outcast Grizabella in the international touring production of “Cats” at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Manila, and the tragic Fantine at the 25th anniversary concert of “Les Miserables” at the O2 Arena in London.
She is expected to conquer the Broadway stage anew when the musical “Allegiance” with George Takei opens in 2012.
