Yes, top television host and singer Willie Revillame is seriously courting his co-host, Valenzuela City Councilor Soledad Shalani.
Showbiz expert Mario Bautista, quoting Shalani’s aunt Baby, exposed the reported courtship in his latest column.
Shalani’s aunt also revealed that Willie and Shalani had done a pictorial for Bench, but apparently the billboard on the endorsement was stopped.
Bench owner Ben Chan later said that the billboard was for their television show “Willing Willy” on TV 5 and not for the Bench endorsement.
It was clarified also that Shalani has not been invited as endorser of Bench.
Bench owner Ben Chan also denied reports that presidential sister Kris Aquino had asked him to stop taking Shalani as product endorser.
“That’s not true,” he said, adding that Shalani was actually not invited to be an endorser of Bench.
Meanwhile, Peach Guioguio, formerly of GMA and ABS-CBN but now of TV5, announced that the Kapatid Network is now also known as Happy Network as they emerged as Numero Uno in the ratings Wednesday night.
TV 5’sr banner show, “Willing-Willie,” topped its rival newscasts for the first time, getting a rating of 10.8%, she said, while GMA’s “24 Oras” got 9.9% while ABS-CBN’s “TV Patrol” is the lowest with only 9.2%.
TV 5’s new show, Cristy Fermin’s “Star Confession,” also rated high with 10%, she said.
Columnist Mario Bautista said this should be enough cause for alarm to the two reigning networks. Obviously, the return of Noli de Castro and Korina Sanchez did not help attract new viewers for “TV Patrol” and this should be enough for ABS-CBN to be more annoyed, what with their former talent, Willie, beating them in the ratings. No wonder they continue to file cases against him.
The ratings, however, were disputed by both ABS-CBN and GMA Network.
One showbiz expert said that it seems the more they sue Willie, the more he seems to gain the public’s sympathy. “Mas nagmumukha lang siyang kinakawawa sa mata ng tao kaya mas marami tuloy naeengganyo sa show niya,” he said.
Willie turns 50 next month and he plans to have a grand birthday celebration at the Quirino Grandstand at the Luneta.
Willie was once married to Liz Almoro, daughter of former Laguna congressman and Immigration Associate Commissioner Roy Almoro, and Princess Punzalan.
