The Second Coming

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is glorious to the believers but judgment and condemnation to the unbelievers. There are two advents of the Second Coming of Christ. The first Advent is the Rapture of the believers. The believers will be ejected from the earth by the trump of God to exempt them from the wrath of God here on earth. And the believers will meet Jesus Christ in the air. “For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
There will be a Grand Reunion Celebration of all the believers with Jesus Christ in Heaven. And Christ will evaluate the believers on the Judgment Seat of Christ and give them rewards or crowns to be offered on His feet for worship. “And behold I come quickly, and my reward is with me to give to every man according as his work shall be.” (Revelation 22:12)
The first advent of the Second Coming of Christ will happen before the Tribulation Period. And the second advent of the Second Coming of Christ is at the end of the seven year Tribulation Period.
Jesus Christ will return on earth and touch down at the Mount of Olives with His holy angels and the believers to wage war against the beast and His ungodly armies at the battle of Armageddon. Revelation 19:11 says “And I saw Heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.
v. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns, and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.
v. 13 And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.
v. 14 And the armies which were in Heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
v. 15 And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations; and He shall rule them with a rod of iron; and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
v. 16 And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
v. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of Heaven, come and gather yourselves together unto the Supper of the great God.
v. 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of the captain, and flesh of the mighty, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
v. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army.
v. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
v. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. The Second Coming of Christ at Armageddon will put an end of the Tribulation because God’s judgment and purpose of the Tribulation is completed and accomplished.
The Second Coming of Christ is not just a CERTAINTY. It is a Doctrinal NECESSITY. Several key doctrines of the Bible are absolutely dependent on the Second Coming of Christ: First of all, the resurrection of the dead cannot be fulfilled until Jesus comes again. “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming” (1 Corinthians 15:22-23).
Secondly, Christ’s victory over satan cannot be completed until He returns. “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:10).
Lastly, His divine nature cannot be vindicated unless He comes again since He promised so many times that He would. Two angels in white apparel said, “Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into Heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into Heaven, shall so come in like manner, as you have seen Him go into Heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
Jesus said, “I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:3)
And Jesus said, “Surely I come quickly,” shall we say, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
